He had interrupted his billiard game to see this woman, but had not bothered to check on me? Even after that show of affection when we'd first sat down? I bit back my annoyance and smiled. "Oh?" I said. Victor hadn't mentioned knowing any women in Hanoi, especially not one who looked like Caroline. "You and Victor are acquainted?" Want More Information? Click Here

Still lack of progress, but its okay, slowly but surely I am finishing up the books I am reading right now... ( from page 57, because 56 has an illustration on it...) "Cyclone Mei might have been blind, but her ears were as sharp as any eyes. She flicked her fingers in different directions and the clang of metal reverberated through the air. All of Tiger Pengs projectiles were redirected back at him and his three companions. This was the Divine Flick, the technique she had started to learn shortly before her dishonorable departure from Peach Blossom Island. The counterattack bought her enough time to question Guo Jing further on ...

I also have been thinking of skipping over non 2020 books for now and I will get to them once I run out of 2020 books to post about. Anyways, enjoy my snippet!  From page 56 " The biggest challenge, my mother said, was traveling with a baby. She had to stuff cloth into my mouth to keep me quiet as we made our way through dangerous territory. We traveled this way from Lodz to Berlin, which on a direct route was about three hundred miles. Today, on good roads in a modern vehicle, the trip would take about five hours, so I can only imagine how long and harrowing our journey was....

I might be switching up some books out of order, that is next in line will be a book for a book tour which is due on February 5th, and the book, by the way is over 500 pages long...and e-book wise, I am reading the collaborative novel for Fresh Fiction titled All The Ways We Said Goodbye. So far its an interesting read, but yeah, I am really itching to go very far away from 20th century, more like Medieval ages. (Note to self: Find Sharon Kay Penman novels about Eleanor of Aquitaine.)  From page 56 " "She hears fine,," Miss Myrtle said, "but she's never uttered a word to me in the thirty years she's worked for me. I l...

My monkey is doing a lot better, thank goodness, just wish he could be healthy enough so I can take him to the park so he can get extra energy out. Had fun at a local bookstore and got some cool classics, although not Sherlock Holmes series, unfortunately. From page 56 "Doesn't anyone want to know what Mona said? She said he threw a week-long banquet and, days in, asked Vashti to leave the women's banquet and come appear in front of his men-in her CROWN. "So? "Dont you get it? In her crown. That means naked. "How does that mean naked?" Want more information? Go here.

My little four year old monkey got sick with a flu type B and to say that I'm upset is an understatement. For me worst thing as a mother is watching my son be sick. I hate it so much because he can't play, he can't do anything he wants to do which is run around, or drive on a bicycle or go to a park or a library or elsewhere. I had so many plans for the holidays, both for myself and my monkey but am forced to give them up... I can't even find myself pick up and read books these last few days.  From Page 56 "Real understanding (though perhaps understanding is an overstatement) is something we arrived at later;...

Honestly, no news to report aside from me reading and enjoying The Wife Between Us and The Limits of the World. Have a great weekend and enjoy this week's tidbit! From Page 56 "But her own bed had always been off limits, so when he walked over and ran his fingers along the white sheets, his heart raced like he was trespassing, getting away with a transgression he would not have dared attempt had she been alive."   Want more information? The books that I began reading this week, namely Miracle Creek by Angie Kim and I'm Fine and Neither Are You by Camille Pagan, are really good and addictive. Here's to 2020 and more upcoming treasures! This is the book I will share with you this week. Enjoy!  From Page 56: "He let the man untie the handkerchief for the first time in days. Sunlight shocked him. It was impossibly bright and blue everywhere. Above him, a large-winged bird followed the wind over the rooftop of a building. In the air was the smell of something deep and old. He pushed through his own haze and ...

While I admit that this year has been kind of lackluster when it came to finding good books, I am hoping that next year will be great for reads. Here is the book I will be sharing this week. Enjoy! From Page 56: "My hands were shaking badly. Lola had stopped swinging her legs. Chunks of scone and jam bobbed in her undrunk orange juice; untidy floating islands. A waiter came over, his face misshapen by my thoughts. His voice coming to me with the slowed-down sound of a distorted merry-go-round, asking if we needed anything else. There is nothing, I thought...

Hopefully everyone had a good week, whether the celebration is for Thanksgiving or for The Day of Mourning. Here is the book I will be sharing this week. Enjoy! From Page 56: "We sit in silence through the clatter of dishes, the hiss and whir of the espresso machine, my thumping heart. For years, I've imagined this-being in front of him again, within reach-but now that I'm here, I just feel outside myself, like I'm watching from a table across the room. It doesn't seem right that we can speak to each other like normal people, or that he can bear to look at me without falling to his knees."  W...

Today I'll be sharing a small tidbit from this book: Enjoy!  From page 56 "Lydia tries to refold the map along its previous creases, but her patience is flimsy, and she shoves it into the pocket of the seat in front of her. She tries to think clearly, to review their options. Most people she would ordinarily turn to for help are dead, and even if they weren't, asking for help is akin to walking into a  friend's kitchen wearing a suicide vest."  Want more information?
