Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings , to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine . While I got The Land Beyond The Sea by Sharon Kay Penman last week, I couldn't really decide which book to compare it to, either one of her old books, or perhaps another novel?  I decided to go with another novel,  and thus I decided to compare it to Shadow of the Swords by Kamran Pasha which also talks about this time period but is a bit more inaccurate I would say? (For one its determined that neither Richard nor Saladin ever met, and somehow I cannot imagine a christian of that particular era would fall in love with a Jewish woman. The marriage would be forbidden unless the J...

I can only imagine that readers will be confused when they are seeing the comparison for this week: why would you post a book that's going to come out in 2020 will compare it to a book that was published in late 18th century who no one has heard of? I think more than anything what motivated me to post this particular book is the summary: that the women in both novels are trying to have perfect lives, and perhaps they may or may not succeed. Enjoy! You are not alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen Published Date: March 3rd, 2020 (From Goodreads) You probably know some...

At long last I finally got Darling Rose Gold last week, and I have plans for featuring it on this week's Waiting on Wednesday! I also realize that I'm kind of running out of 2020 books, (yes same story as in the end of December 2019...) so if that happens, I guess I will focus on books that were published earlier than 2020 but that I haven't read yet... Two books I will feature today are Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel and Saving Meghan by D.J Palmer, which is about, yes, mothers and daughters as well as mental illness and Munchhausen syndrome by Proxy. I also ...

If you're continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here . Its difficult to believe that first week of 2020 is over, and now we're on second week! I had hopes that Darling Rose Gold, which I won in Goodreads Firstreads would arrive, but it hadn't. I also hope to hear from some people, which I hadn't yet so far, but still the year is brand new.  Two books I will feature today is one that is coming out on 14th of January, How Quickly She Disappeares by Raymond Fleischmann and another is The Second Sister by Claire Kendal. So both books are suspense/thrillers, and both deal with missing sisters as well as, surprisingly, have ch...

For better or worse, the teen decade of 2000s is over, and we moved on to the twenties decade, which I hope will provide the world with stability it desperately needs. I also hope that my bookish and non-bookish will also come true during this decade.  This is my first 2020 bookish meme, and it seemed right to fall on Wednesday, which means it's time for 'Can't Wait Wednesday' which means excitement over the books I am excited about coming out. I've ...

For this week, I decided to link up A Bond Undone by Jin Yong as well as All Men Are Brothers by Shi Nai'an (version I have is translated by Pearl Buck!) By luck or whatnot, I did manage to get a 2020 book, You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, which I might pair with another earlier than 2020 book. (Not sure which one yet...) So let's move on to this week's Waiting on Wednesday. I also wish happy holidays to everyone.  First book I will present is titled A Bond Undone by Jin Yong, which is volume 2 of...

I will still post two books, but one has yet to arrive while another can be bought, but I have yet to read it. I have thought long and hard on how to pair the remaining books, since the remaining ones are very disparate from one another (a suspense novel in present day Alaska and a historical fiction about Vietnam, and the one I am posting today is a memoir on post Holocaust.) I will explain my choices for posting I Want You To Know We're Still Here by Esther ...

I tend to feature books that I already have/own rather than something I don't have because I might get obsessed with it, which isn't good. I am crossing my fingers that I might get a few more 2020 releases so I can last until January when I will only feature one book per post.  The first book that I am featuring is titled The Book of V by Anna Solomon which seems to deal with triple timelines (one story takes place in modern times, one in 1970s and one is sort of a...

If you're continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here . So here I am doing Waiting on Wednesday for the third straight week. I have to say that doing book memes is fun, especially seeing the comments on my blog from my fellow bloggers. Thank you everyone! For awhile, I have been thinking of what kind of books I'll be featuring on Waiting on Wednesday, and have figured that until 2020, I will feature two 2020 books (hopefully I will be able to do it) that will have some common threads. From week of January 1st, 2020, I will feature one book, or maybe focus on one book per week.  The ...

Does it require you to post books that are coming out in 2020? Can you post books from previous years that you want to read but haven't had a chance yet (and is there a meme for that?) Can you post books you already own that will be published in the future?  Aside from my musings, here are two books that I am excited about: one is from an indie press titled The Road to Urbino by Roma Tearne. I was sent this book for a review, and have read the author...

If you're continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here . I already have a possibly long list of books I want to read, but here are the two I hope to read soon. One is a tale that I imagine everyone has either heard about or have even reviewed and read as well. On Goodreads, I would describe this particular book as a powerhouse, because it may have over 500 ratings, but the average rating is 4.71 stars! And that is before its debut of January 2020! (Something that is rare with even the best of books.) The book I am talking about is titled American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins. Another book I ...
