Characters:

Raina is best described as tech-savvy, fearful, a talented linguist, and someone who is battling her emotions towards love and romance due to her history. She is also dedicated to classes and exams and seems to suffer from low self confidence, believing herself unworthy of good things. Kas is confident, gentle, loyal and patient, as well as a natural leader and he has great relationships with family and friends and coworkers. Other characters include Chase who's a psychologist and Kas's friend, then the supervisor Dexter I think, and some other co-workers that I wanted to see more of. With few exceptions the characters are all unique and I wanted to see more of them in the book; aside from the main ones of Kas and Raina. I also would have wanted to know the background of Raina's father.

Theme:

Overcoming and healing tragedies requires a lot of patience and love.

Plot:

Its written in third person narrative from Raina's and Kas's points of views, although I feel that Kas dominated the majority of the book. I have to admit that I kind of fell in love with his character and how sweet and gentle he was towards Raina. The switches did happen without warning which was a bit jarring for me. One of my slight pet peeves is the evil Russian thing that America has going on in movies, and somewhat in books. I'm originally from Russia, and although I do get that there are horrible Russians, but there are good Russians too, and Russia is suffering economically and in a lot of ways too. I think I would have liked it if it was more international instead of mainly focused on Russia.

I am a new author and have recently discovered that I am now addicted to writing. My first novel, Saving Rain, was originally going to be a single novel, but it quickly turned into a trilogy. I fell in love with the characters and had to continue with the story to delve more into their intriguing, dangerous lives. The Rain Trilogy is a powerful story of abuse, human trafficking, and beautiful, redeeming love (new adult contemporary romance suspense meant for readers 18 and older). Saving Rain and Healing Rain are live now, and After the Rain will be live by the end of October 2013.
I live in the mountains with my family, and I love to read, hike, and travel when I am not writing. I am a sucker for romance, especially a book with a strong alpha male who has a sensitive side. I also enjoy a good mystery and thrillers. My favorite author is James Patterson, he is an amazing writer.
With being a newbie, I am just learning all the ropes, but I'm loving the wild ride. I plan on writing for as long as my fingers have dexterity.

Opinion:

The writing style seemed to resemble my own, at least in the first book. I think while I was reading it, I expected there to be more of the case or more subplots that involved different characters,  but the book completely focused on Rain and Kas, and of Kas attempting to prove and convince Raina that he is a good guy as well as that she's worth something. While I liked the references to some Russian words and the growing relationship between Kas and Raina, including an amazing twist at the very end of the book as well as the raised topics and some interesting computer references, I did feel that certain events tied up a little too neatly and I would have liked to see more of FBI stuff that Kas has to face. However, I am curious as to know what happened next between Raina and Kas.
