Characters:
I have to admit that I really liked Rafe and his interesting personality. I don't think I've read or met a hero that made such a strong impression on me. I liked Rafe's speech and something about him seemed different than from other heroes. While I liked that Claire wore glasses like I (yay!) and is intelligent (I'm literature history dork), she didn't seem to have a personality I would have found memorable. I did want to like her, but couldn't.
Theme:
Its possible to find love anywhere.
Plot:
This is in third person narrative from Rafe's and Claire's points of view. Claire is searching for a friend that went missing, and she also got Rafe's help to help her search for her friend. While they are searching, they are starting to have attraction for one another. The chemistry and other scenes are well done, the hero is top notch, but the heroine needs a little work in my opinion. I kind of hope that the friend will get her own romance novel one day. I also admit that she's good at writing mysteries because it pulled me in and never let me go, for I wanted to know what was going on with her friend and whether or not she'll be found and so forth.

Opinion:
I have to be honest that in the previous book I read by her, I wasn't too crazy about, so I was slightly concerned about this one. However, my concerns were unfounded and I enjoyed it a great deal, Rafe in particular. I seriously think he's one of the best Burns's heroes that I have read about. While I liked Claire as well, I think she couldn't match up to Rafe in personality. I also enjoyed the setting and although I'm no longer Anne Rice fan, it would have been cool if Lestat instead of Armand was the mysterious "vampire."
