Mark Ulriksen wears his art on his sleeve. A successful illustrator, his work is regularly featured on the cover of The New Yorker and other popular publications, as book jackets, in art galleries and as commissioned work. His style is colorful, thoughtful and humorous. Mark's work has won multiple gold and silver medal from the Society of Illustrators and is in the permanent collection of The Smithsonian and the Library of Congress.
Personal Opinion:
Do you have a dog or two or three and you always wanted to have a picture book about how great and lovable dogs are that you could show to youngesters? Then this is the right book for the reader. The book has illustrations and reads like a child's book, and should be good to read this with a youngster or two and teach them about how great dogs are. At least that's what I'm planning to do in the future. I loved reading it, flipping through the pages and encountering ways how dogs behave and how despite them being exasperating (yes, I'm looking at you my little dachshund princess, who didn't let me eat in peace,) they are still great and there is a reason they are called a man's best friend.
