Characters:
The main characters included Bug and his brothers. Bug is best described as determined and resourceful as well as a troublemaker to his mother. He also strongly admires his older brothers, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately it has been a long time since I read it that I barely remember the main characters.
Theme:
No idea what it should have been
Plot:
The story is in first person narrative from Bug's point of view. From what I recall, the mystery is pretty interesting and the characters are designed very well. But after a while, I think the story lost its steam which means that I wasn't interested in it as before. But still an unpredictable ending.

Opinion:
While I was reading the book, some of the parts were really reminiscent of Mark Twain's books, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, mainly, about the golden old days of yesteryear. But perhaps first few chapters reminded me of that book because rest of the chapters and the story didn't really seem to capture the sparkle and magic that was there in the beginning of the story. I imagine that a book like this might bring a lot of nostalgia for people who were born and grew up around the time, but it didn't bring me much nostalgia, maybe because of generational differences or gender differences. Still, its a quick read if one is looking for an old fashioned story.
