Characters:
The main characters would be Docia and Ramses II, or Ram as he is known. Docia is best described as sort of mousy, loyal to her family, shy and nervous prior to her transformation. Ramses is best described as honorable and puts others above himself, although Docia is really making him rethink this particular priority. Unfortunately the characters aren't as well drawn out as I hoped they'd be so I don't know much about them.

Plot:
The book is written in third person narrative from Docia's, Jackson's and Ramses's points of views. I was pretty happy with the pacing, characters as well as explanations and so forth when it came to the book. I wasn't confused and I really enjoyed hanging out and getting to know the characters as well as learning about the paranormal world they inhabit. The book isn't overwhelming and the author seems to realize that she has new readers or audience so she draws them in little by little into the world of ancient Egypt and pharaohs and restless souls. I personally don't think the characters were the strong aspect of the book, but instead the plot, pacing and the story itself was far more interesting than the characters.

Wow, I wonder if all paranormal romances are written as well as The World of Nightwalkers, or is it just these series in particular? I admit that prior to Jacquelyn Frank I hadn't read any paranormal romances (and I doubt I'll call Twilight a paranormal romance) and I wanted to try to see what it would be like. Surprisingly Forbidden has blown me away. The story starts out simply with a woman named Docia who dies and then becomes inhabited by a mysterious body-walker who might be a queen of all bodywalkers, except this queen has a love destiny with an Egyptian King named Menes, and instead she and her bodyguard named Ramses begin to fall in love. The series is a spin-off from another titled Nightwalkers, which I hadn't read. I found the world intriguing, intelligent and well-written. I do wonder how everything will turn out in the end for the body-walkers and so forth.
