Characters:
The main characters include Lola who is best described as ambitious, stubborn and loyal. She was raised with a single father and is determined not to repeat her childhood. She has a dream of marrying someone wealthy. She then has misadventures before finding her happiness and then she has to deal with more bad events happening, but at the same time she discovers her true dream. Her husband Jax is best described as passionate, a talented chef, and someone who listens to his mother. There are other characters as well, such as Jax's mother, Arnie the detective, Miranda who helps and few others I cannot recall at the moment.

Plot:
The story is written in third person narrative, most from Lola's point of view, although her friends were also thrown in at times, which perhaps is a bit comparison between the two relationships, at least that's the sense I got. There was a bit confusion between the points of views and who's speaking. Sometimes I had difficulty remembering some characters, and I do wish that it would be explained on why Jackson turned to Jax, or perhaps more vulnerable sides to Lola might help as well. What I mean is showing how Lola is struggling internally between her dream and what reality has dealt her.

Opinion:
I have to admit that I found this book to be much better than With Malicious Intent. I was already used to the author's style; that the trivia is just trivia and doesn't have anything to do with the chapters. With Malicious Intent, I thought the quotes actually related to the chapters or endings so to speak. It seems as if there is sort of double conversation going on; that of trivia and the story itself. I found Lola to be a much more likable and intriguing character and she also seemed a bit sympathetic. I think what I would have liked is emphasis on how the characters have changed through hard times. Besides that an interesting light-hearted story for those seeking something where one doesn't have to think or anything of the kind.
