Summary:

Drusilla had better figure out who killed Colin before everything comes apart and the police figure out who she really is.
Characters:
The characters are well rounded and well done, at least in terms of Stevie and Drusilla, but lack of background information really frustrated me. Drusilla is best described as manipulative, an expert body-language reader and very resourceful as well as protective, loyal and beautiful. She has a mysterious dark side to her that hints of murders, sexual abuse and so forth. She is loyal to her sister Stevie and will do anything to protect her. Stevie is highly intelligent, asexual and I couldn't decide if she was an adolescent or an adult already. She has went through trauma and is also loyal, hard-worker and is willing to put comfort aside to do the best she can for Drusilla. Other characters are interesting as well, but Drusilla gives very little information about them, thus I can't judge or know them properly.

Plot:
This is written in first person narrative completely from Drusilla's point of view. She and her green-card husband Colin have a magic act together, and in the middle of the show Colin walks out and disappears, taking away Drusilla's bracelet. Drusilla, with the help of Stevie her younger sister, finds Colin, but then he mysteriously gets murdered and Drusilla is plunged into the blackmail of who and why in Hollywood. I have to admit that there are numerous things that didn't seem to work for me, or that sounded a bit too unbelievable; first are Drusilla's abilities in terms of manipulation, and that she could seemingly mind-read and get access to the well known stars. I also admit that the strong point of the story are the characters and possible fascinating character backgrounds and the plot. I do hope that in the future more about Drusilla and her sister will be explained.

Opinion:
Its an intriguing story with an interesting plot and interesting characters, but I have to admit that the hints to the back-story of the characters really killed me. The author plants some interesting clues and hints throughout the story when it comes to Drusilla and Stevie, but she never pieces the back-story together. Half the time I was wondering if I was reading series or something, and while there are plans to turn this into the series, this is the first book! I have to admit that the mystery for me was confusing and I was too distracted by the unmaterialized backgrounds to enjoy the mystery in front of me.
