Personal Opinion:

While I liked reading about Darcy a lot, I think there was perhaps something missing in the Darcy book, especially when comparing it to Tammy. (I'm not sure how describe it.) But Tammy felt as if the story gave us a lot of glimpses of Tammy and the changes that Lianne went through from the time she got Tammy to the time she said to goodbye to her. There was definitely a strong coming-of-age element in Tammy. Just like with Tammy, Darcy was a beautiful tale and a tribute to her dog, and its a book that all book lovers can understand and relate to, and like Tammy, Darcy gives us strong glimpses of her personality and thoughts, but I felt as if the story of Darcy tended to be too short, or perhaps not as vivid when comparing it to Tammy. However, for someone who loves dog stories or just animal stories, then Darcy will be an awesome treat.
